Galette des Rois in Paris: Tapestry between tradition and delicacy

Tapisserie, the patisserie we love, celebrates the Epiphany tradition with two equally good galettes des rois. Available in its boutiques in the 11ᵉ and 7ᵉ arrondissement, they come in 2 versions this year 2025: the classic frangipane and the very gourmet variant with organic gianduja and hazelnuts.

Since the opening of the first patisserie at 11ᵉ and then the one at 7ᵉ in salon de thé mode, Tapisserie Paris has entered our hearts. It has to be said that its creations are just delicious and the famous Maple Syrup Tart is one of our must-try at least once in Paname. In short, when it's Galettes des Rois season, we can't pass it up, especially as this year the house is offering 2 versions: one with frangipane (€32) for purists and one with organic hazelnut gianduja (€44) for the adventurous. Admittedly, we fall into both categories. We like traditional as well as creative, all tastes are catered for.

What do these 2 galettes des Rois have in store for us? An inverted puff pastry, both buttered and caramelized, of course. Available in our boutiques in the 11th and 7th arrondissements, these galettes can be enjoyed in a single format for six people, or by the slice, without pre-ordering, directly in the boutique.

The classic galette relies on a creamy, fragrant frangipane, while the gianduja version boasts a generous, melt-in-the-mouth filling, enriched with gourmet pieces of chocolate and hazelnuts. Low in sugar and perfectly balanced, the latter embodies the spirit of the house: flavors carefully crafted, without artifice. The inverted puff pastry, crisp and melting at the same time, blends perfectly with the lightly sweetened crunchy cream. In short, it's delicious.

Tapisserie, created in 2021 by Michelin-starred chef Bertrand Grébaut and his partner Théophile Pourriat, is part of a contemporary patisserie approach. Located at 65 rue de Charonne (11th arrondissement) and 16 avenue de la Motte-Picquet (7th arrondissement), the company favors local, high-quality ingredients, such as flour from the Île-de-France region and chocolate from the Plaq factory. This know-how, inherited from the excellence of Bertrand Grébaut, is the common thread running through a no-frills patisserie, focused on the essential, and you can feel it in your mouth.

This year, let yourself be tempted by these simple, gourmet galettes des rois, perfect for sharing a good time with family and friends this January 2025.
