The Jardins Japonais de Favières, located in Seine-et-Marne, opens the doors to a 7,000m2 cultural and ecological space. We set off to discover this haven of peace, embodying Japanese art and tradition. These gardens, in perpetual progress, offer spaces of serenity and reflection that you're sure to love. Visits must be booked in advance.

We're off to Seine-et-Marne, to Favières to be precise, to discover the Jardins japonais de Favières. The 7,000m2 park features 5 different Japanese gardens, inviting you to take a stroll in serenity. These gardens, which have yet to cease to amaze us, are still evolving.

The Jardins Japonais de Favières is the brainchild of Sandrine Milic, a landscape gardener who has specialized in the art of Japanese gardens for two decades. Designed with respect for Japanese tradition, these gardens offer a rich sensory experience, varying with the seasons, the plants in bloom and the route chosen. From the azaleas in bloom in spring to the maples that show their beautiful colors as soon as the cold sets in at night, these gardens are to be discovered throughout the seasons, and even in the rain, Sandrine tells us, to bring out the gray stones.

Launched two years ago, the gardens are evolving and being adorned with new plantings (when the animals and insects of the surrounding forest, which borders the park, are willing to let them flourish). In this way, new plantings join the older ones already spreading out. The gardens are not yet finished, and there are still many projects to come, such as the cherry-tree meadow to celebrate Hanami in spring, or the Tea House to recharge your batteries and experience a real tea ceremony.

During your visit, we invite you to explore :

  • A walking garden, ideal for strollers.

These green spaces are home to a variety of carefully selected plants and trees. Different maples and pines, phlox and many other plants blend harmoniously, offering an evolving experience.

But these gardens are more than just an invitation to contemplate. They are also a place for cultural exchange. A space dedicated to exhibitions and training courses regularly offers :

  • Art exhibitions, such as THIEM's, to mark the opening of the gardens from September 30 to October 29, 2023. His captivating works blend harmoniously into the serene environment of the gardens, offering a unique artistic experience.
