Are you ready for a 9, 10 or 19 kilometer stroll through several of Yvelines' forests? On October 8, 2023, Sunday sports enthusiasts are invited to a pleasant walk supervised by volunteers from the Comité départemental de Randonnée pédestre des Yvelines, with food and culture on the menu! There are three routes accessible to all, in groups of 20 people, through the forests of Marly-le-Roi, Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Chambourcy, at your own pace.
In the morning, head for Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche station, where you'll be greeted with pastries and hot or cold drinks. You'll then set off for the Marly forest, with its rolling hills offering superb views of the capital and the surrounding region. A cultural break then awaits you at the Désert de Retz, a sumptuous Garden of Lights, set at the edge of the woods in autumn colors.
The walk continues past the Lycée Agricole, then the Platrières site, before arriving on the Plaine de la Jonction, which links the Marly and Saint-Germain forests. A well-deserved picnic break awaits you at the Quai des Possibles, a third-party venue located at the Lisière Pereire station, before heading back to the Saint-Germain forest. But don't forget your lunch, which is not included in the price!
During the walk, you'll learn about the history and preservation of the 3500-hectare Saint-Germain state forest, before heading to the national estateand its superb terrace. During the walk, gourmet breaks will be offered to showcase local know-how, and to treat yourself to Yvelines specialities!
