The Fête de la Nature is back to celebrate the richness of biodiversity and the importance of preserving the environment. This nationwide event brings together young and old around educational and fun activities to discover and appreciate nature. For the 2024 edition, the Parc Schlumberger in Cormeilles-en-Parisis in the Val d'Oise is opening its doors with a rich and varied program, free of charge to boot, this Sunday, May 26.
The Parc Schlumberger, located in the heart of Cormeilles-en-Parisis, is an area of outstanding natural beauty, known for its vast green spaces, hills and footpaths. This park, the green lung of the region, is the ideal place to host such a party, offering the perfect setting for outdoor activities.
The Fête de la Nature 2024 program at Parc Schlumberger :
- Kite-making workshops: 10:00 - 17:00
Come and make your own kite and test it out on the park's mounds! The workshops are led by Les Ateliers de Sham and are open to children aged 5 and over.
- Orienteering and nature games: 10:00 - 17:00
Take part in an orienteering race in the park and discover various observation activities: microscope, drawings, games on plants and small animals. These activities are offered by Asparagus and are open to all ages.
- A story of trees and fruit: 10:00 - 18:00
Watch demonstrations of grafting and pruning of fruit trees (apple or pear) with specialists from Les Croqueurs de Pomme. This activity is accessible to all ages.
- Nature in books: 10:00 - 18:00
Immerse yourself in nature and biodiversity through stories, nature books and comic strips. Nature-themed board games will also be available, provided by the Médiathèque de l'Éclipse. This activity is open to all.
- Tableaux végétaux à gogo : 11:00 - 17:00
Create works of art using nature's riches: flowers, fruit, seeds, buds, bark, minerals. This fun activity is offered by Muziconte and is open to all ages.
- In the shoes of an entomologist: 14:00 - 17:30
In teams, take part in a fun walk to learn how to observe small creatures with butterfly nets, magnifying boxes and identification books. Organized by the Office pour les Insectes et leur Environnement (OPIE), this activity is aimed at children aged 6 and over, and takes place in three sessions (2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm), with a maximum of 20 people per session.
- Artistic wandering: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Discover nature and landscapes by drawing your observations in a notebook. This activity is led by CAUE 95 and is open to children aged 10 and over, with a maximum of 12 participants.
