Did you know? Crossing the Seine would only take... Two minutes! At least, that's what's on offer in Vétheuil, a pretty village in the Val-d'Oise département, every year in fine weather. We tested this short crossing for you, linking two picturesque villages to the west of Paris, not far from the Normandy countryside.
On one side is Vétheuil (95), a charming little village that inspired Impressionists such as Renoir and Monet... The village is also crossed by the GR 2, a long-distance hiking trail in the Paris region. On the other hand, the Lavacourt district in the village of Moisson, in the Yvelines département. A bucolic, even picturesque district, from which you can easily reach (on foot in 15 minutes) theBoucles de Seine leisure island, known for its large accrobranche (tree climbing) course, or the Moisson golf course.
The ferry operates from April to October, on Fridays, weekends and public holidays only. Entirely free of charge, it can carry a maximum of 12 people per trip, although dogs, strollers and bicycles are accepted on board. It operates continuously, according to demand. For a ride that's as playful as it is bucolic, come aboard the Vétheuil ferry (address not given, but available on GPS applications here). Enjoy the ride!
