Are you looking for an adventure park in the heart of nature, where you can go green and have fun at the same time? The AccroCamp adventure course on the Ile de Loisirs des Boucles de Seine is just around the corner from Giverny.
After opening its first successful accrobranche in Rueil a few years ago, AccroCamp has taken over Moisson since May 1, 2018. Here's a spot that's got it all: a site in the middle of a pristine forest with a view over the lake, top-notch facilities to make the activity accessible, a unique and hyper-safe continuous pulley system so you can never go wrong, cool workshops with giant zip lines as well as a 12-meter-high jump into the void. There's plenty to keep you happy and have a great time.
The Boucles de Seine leisure park is located between Giverny and Mantes-la-Jolie, 70 km from Paris. The 350-hectare green park on the banks of the Seine offers a wide range of activities, including golf, water sports, cycling, tennis and swimming.
Highlights: a superb supervised beach with fine sand, clean, clear water and barbecues! No barbecues? The bar run by Accrocamp rents them out with charcoal if required, so there's no excuse to avoid grilling. So a simple outing to the accrobranche can be transformed into a day out with a walk in the trees, a swim and a barbecue to boot.
Note that admission to the leisure park is not free during the summer season (July-August). This is the price you pay to have a lifeguard keep watch on the beach. It's €3 per person, a sum that has been deducted from the usual accrobranche rates.
You start by going to the beach bar to pay for your pass (child, junior, adult or all-inclusive), watch an explanatory video on best practices and get rid of your bulky belongings at the code locker.
Then it's off to the forest to get equipped.
On site, we discover structures well integrated into the natural environment. The layout has been designed to respect the environment and the trees as much as possible, and the platforms are equipped with a 4-point pressure system to avoid tourniqueting the tree as it grows. Off-road green spaces are also left uncultivated to avoid trampling and to give nature and its animals free rein to develop.
Once you're equipped, you can start learning how to use the continuous line pulley. It's an ingenious system that not only means you'll never get unhooked, but also means you'll never have to change systems, especially for the zip lines. After use, we're won over by this extremely simple and fluid system, which glides along on its own with virtually no jamming - we love it. A second karabiner is added to the equipment (for adults), for even greater safety.
After a short learning curve, you're off to tackle one of the 7 courses, depending on age and difficulty, with challenges up to 15 meters high! Surprisingly, you'll discover access to the heights via real wooden staircases. A godsend for those afraid of climbing, and a safe way for accrobranche to secure access when the park is closed.
Monkey bridges, nets, climbing, spider jumps and zip lines with landing platforms are on the menu for our afternoon rush. 3 hours later, after a final leap into the void from a height of 12 metres at Quick Jump, we're rinsed and delighted.
In short, if you're looking for a great day out in the great outdoors and a tree-climbing experience that's fun, has a great view and is completely safe, you know where to go.
