Set in the heart of a 350-hectare forest - the forest of La Roche-Guyon - the eponymous arboretum was designed to represent the Île-de-France region, both in terms of its shape, which from the air represents each département, and in terms of the flora it contains.
Discover the flora of the Ile-de-France region, with plane trees in Paris, lime and bay trees in Hauts-de-Seine, cherry and red currant trees in Seine-Saint-Denis.... Or stroll among maples (Essonne), beeches (Yvelines), hornbeams (Val-de-Marne), etc. The department with the most plant species is certainly Seine-et-Marne, which alone covers half the surface area of the region, and is home to numerous species of oak, dogwood, holly, yew, eucalyptus...

The arboretum is open and accessible every day of the year, so getting there by car is almost essential, especially from Paris. You can picnic on site, provided you don't leave any garbage behind! Alternatively, you can come on foot, via the GR2 from Mantes-la-Jolie. During your visit, continue your stroll to the Château de la Roche-Guyon, a medieval edifice carved out of stone, or to the pretty village center, with its particularly famous vegetable garden .
