In the heart of Paris, a courtyard with a Cuban jungle feel awaits you behind two large wooden doors. The patio sets the scene with works by Cuban artists and second-hand furniture.
La Casa Eminente, opens its doors this February 3, 2023 in a charming dead end of the 4th district. This ephemeral house is designed as a Paladar, a real Cuban family house with a restaurant and a bar. The bar offers Havana-inspired cocktails created by talented mixologists.
Each of the 4 suites upstairs (unfortunately not open to the public for the night) tells a part of the Eminente story and evokes a unique facet of the Cuban island. Discover the Cuban fauna and flora in the Cocodrilo room, the Cuban countryside with its coffee and tobacco leaf in the Isla room, the island's literary culture in the Terracotta room and Cuban art in the Galería room. The decoration, designed in collaboration with SelencyPro, is a tribute to the authenticity of the Cuban houses of Isla del Cocodrilo, with vegetalized spaces, works of Cuban artists selected by Laura Salas Redondo, mottled furniture and an homage to Cuban fauna and flora.
Casa Eminente 's bar and restaurant promise a unique culinary experience with local chefs and European bartenders. Every two months, a new personality will be invited to reinvent great Cuban classics and the bartenders will give their creative version.
The Casa Eminente restaurant will host three chefs who will take turns reinterpreting Cuban cuisine. The first, Julien Sebbag, known for his restaurants Créatures on the Rooftop of Galeries Lafayette, Forest at the Museum of Modern Art and recently Micho, will unveil his sharing cuisine in February and March. Here we have creations such as Tacos of wild sea bream in tartar, yogurt spiced with coriander and lime, and snacked prawns with a sauce made of cashew nuts and miso, red peppers and Cuban coffee crumble.
The bar, designed by architect Lucas Madani of Hauvette & Madani, will host renowned mixologists such as Monica Berg and Alex Kratena for creative cocktails. On weekends, masterclasses are scheduled. Five other industry personalities will also be present to bring Casa Eminente to life.
In short, Casa Eminente is a culinary and cultural journey to the Caribbean, offering an immersive experience in the authenticity of Cuban culture. To us the discovery, the tasting of Cuban dishes revisited by good chefs and the exotic cocktails that take us to Cuba.
