Laouz, the Algerian house that opened its first patisserie in 2016 with great success, has quickly made its mark all over Paris. With its universe of fine oriental pastries adorned with modernity while retaining their traditional soul, the house has not finished delighting us. With no fewer than six boutiques in the capital, Laouz continues to delight gourmets with a varied range of sweets, from revisited classics to more daring creations.
These pastries, veritable gustatory jewels, invite you on a sensory voyage of memories and discoveries. For those already familiar with these delights, they evoke pleasant memories of childhood or vacations. For others, they represent an invitation to travel, a call to let yourself be transported by the smooth, delicate flavors of the Mediterranean.
Laouz was founded on a shared passion and a genuine partnership with the best pastry chefs in Algiers, enriched by a love of traditional cuisine. The desire to pass on this gourmet heritage is reflected in a constant quest for novelty, creativity and innovation. Every fragrance, every flavor, every color is a new creation, constantly renewing the art and pleasure of Oriental patisserie.
Each traditional recipe comes in a palette of gourmet and sometimes unusual flavors: almond, poppy, yuzu, matcha tea, grapefruit, praline, pistachio... All faithful to ancestral know-how, they are produced daily to guarantee incomparable freshness.
What's more, some of their pastries are gluten-free, adding another string to their gourmet bow. Available in their tea rooms or via an online delivery service, these sweet treats appeal to all palates. Laouz also offers bakery specialties and a personalized catering service, ideal for festive meals or during Ramadan.
The house offers five original collections, a delicious blend of tradition and innovation, celebrating the cultures and tastes of East and West. They explore infinite horizons: yuzu, poppy, matcha tea, marshmallow, pistachio, chocolate...
The traditional range remains faithful to ancestral know-how, with ingredients such as almond, artisanal honey, cinnamon and orange blossom. The fruity range offers a festival of flavors with strawberry, raspberry, fig, mandarin, mango, grapefruit and prune. Gourmandes seduce with richer flavors such as praline, caramel and chocolate. Les épicées are a bold exploration of world flavors, blending anise, lemon-ginger, orange-cinnamon, licorice, Espelette pepper or yuzu. Laouz creations are a concentrate of the house's excellence and know-how, with floral and spicy notes of rose, poppy, jasmine, matcha tea or coffee.
In addition to pastries, Laouz offers a variety of traditional Algerian breads and cakes such as Kesra, Msemen and Khoubz dar. Each specialty tells its own story, which the in-store teams are happy to share.
The restaurant at 136, rue St Honoré invites you to discover traditional Algerian cuisine: Méchouia salad, Algerian Coca, couscous, tajine Maison, and of course, a selection of pastries accompanied by fragrant tea.
Laouz is a rich and diversified culinary experience, a gourmet bridge between France and Algeria. In recent years, the success of the first boutique, opened in 2016 on rue St-Honoré, has led to the opening of five other boutiques in Paris, confirming its place as a key player on the Parisian culinary scene. A visit to Laouz is an invitation to rediscover Oriental patisserie in a new light, far from the clichés of heaviness and excessive sugar. It's not necessarily cheap, we admit, but it's homemade, well dosed in sugar and fresh, enough to have a good time.
