La juicerie, juice bar and healthy spot - permanently closed

La Juicerie is the capital's new producer of healthy fruit juices. If their name rings a bell, it's because you've probably seen their little bottles all over Paris, in gyms and delicatessens.

If La Juicerie isn't a "minute" juice bar, where you select the fruit and vegetables to put in your glass, it's simply because the juices are cold-pressed, a technique that takes time to allow the fruit to be pressed without a rise in temperature, and which takes place in Nanterre. And because the fruit is not pasteurized, it retains all its minerals, but must be enjoyed in less than two days.

Clémence, founder of La Juicerie with Adrien and Richard, explained the process to us: they receive fruit and vegetables (all organic) early in the morning in their production workshop in Nanterre, two employees press the fruit and vegetables for the 6 recipes (the process takes several hours) and send the bottles to the Paris boutique in the afternoon.

In the little store with the big fridge and the little counter, you can enjoy a Mister K made with Kale, cucumber, apple and pineapple, the Carrot Kick, a concentrate of carrots, oranges and apples with a dash of ginger, or the Beet It, beet, celery, apple and lemon zest, all for 6.5€ (yes, an organic juice, fresh daily, concentrated in vitamins and minerals that takes hours to produce, is well worth 6.5€!).

And to accompany its juices, La Juicerie offers fresh, healthy products prepared with the same fruit and vegetables as the juices: mixed salads at 9€, soups at 8.5€, ciabatta at 8€ and even açaï bowls, a bowl of acaï pulp (the hyperfruit) with granola and fruit, the menu's healthy trump card that makes an ideal vitamin-packed breakfast at 7€.
