Just a stone's throw from Place Vendôme and the Jardin des Tuileries, we're off to discover Brasserie Émil, an authentic Parisian brasserie that opens its restaurant doors all day long.
L'Émil, located on the corner of the luxury Château Voltaire hotel at 55-57 rue Saint-Roch, with its listed façade, unveils an authentic French restaurant in the heart of Paris's 1st arrondissement. With its Art Deco elegance and warm ambience, the restaurant offers a carefully-crafted menu that oscillates between French classics and Mediterranean touches.
As soon as you step through the doors of this brasserie, the refined, hushed atmosphere becomes apparent. The coffered ceilings and period tiling evoke a Paris of yesteryear, while the solid oak banquettes and ornate consoles lend an air of bistro chic. Service is attentive and seamless, allowing us to appreciate the fine work of chef Valentin Lambert, who trained with some of the great names in gastronomy.
L'Émil' s menu stands out for its skillfully executed creations based on seasonal produce. Starters such as yellow tail carpaccio and mimosa eggs are sure to please.
Lovers of generous dishes will succumb to must-tries such asveal escalope al limone, rigatoni with fresh morels, or chateau filet accompanied by Anna apples or homemade fries. For our part, we feasted on perfectly cooked sea bass with lemon sauce, as well as seasonal scallops served with mashed potatoes, home fries and sautéed broccolini.
For dessert, Pavlova with red fruits, crème brûlée or the delicious rice pudding on the menu of the day, mark the end of a meal with elegance.
Note that breakfasts - available until 10:30 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on Sundays - combine simplicity and refinement. On weekdays, continuous service from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. makes L'Émil accessible at all hours, for a quick or late lunch, or an advanced dinner.
But there's more to the restaurant than its food. Its decor, orchestrated by the Festen studio, pays homage to Parisian architecture while adding a contemporary touch. Every detail is designed to offer an immersive experience, where luxury meets conviviality.
Prices, ranging from 50 to 100 euros, reflect the quality of the products and the chef's expertise. Whether it's for a special occasion or a simple gourmet pleasure, L'Émil delights locals and tourists alike, in search of authentic, convivial cuisine.
In short, why not settle into this brasserie in the Château Voltaire? Well-executed recipes, a Parisian art deco setting just the way we like it, and attentive service, we're in. An address where tradition and modernity meet for the pleasure of fine palates.
Note that the hotel also conceals a superb cocktail bar open daily from 5pm to 1:30am, named the Coquille d'or, in a nod to the emblematic 16th-century sign that adorns one of the building's corners.
