As soon as we open the door, we're greeted with a big smile and a "How are you? A sure sign of the good mood at Mulko.
At the helm of this new establishment are Cyril and Pierre, no strangers to the kitchen. The former has already set up a foodtruck, while the latter was chef at Miznon in Tel Aviv and Paris.
So it's Pierre who's in the kitchen, and perched on a counter stool it's quite a sight to watch him get down to business, using his hands as his main cooking utensil.
After a few minutes' wait, our crush kebab (€16) arrives: a plate full of seeds, preserved seasonal vegetables and fresh salad, topped with the famous crush kebab, a mix of minced beef and lamb flattened like a patty. The flavors are both fresh and spicy, the meat is tasty and perfectly seasoned, and the whole thing is hearty without being heavy - it's a no-brainer!
Our neighbor seems just as pleased with his fish and chips, with its not-at-all greasy breading and Charlotte potato fries. All plates are also available as sandwiches (€10-12), with the filling comfortably tucked between two thick slices of brioche bread .
Finally, note that the menu includes a number of dishes to share, ranging from 4 to 6 euros, ideal for an aperitif accompanied by wine or cocktails.
In short, we'll gladly return to this cheerful den where delicious cuisine and good humor mingle.
