Would you like to take a tour of the Mediterranean without having to board a crowded cruise ship? Chef Yoni Saada, captain of the stopover, invites you to Bagnard, the second of its kind. After opening his first Bagnard on rue Saint-Augustin, the chef known to the general public thanks to his participation in Top Chef is opening a second Mediterranean cantine on rue de Saintonge.
While the first Bagnard featured pan bagnat, served at the counter or to take away, this second Bagnard will showcase a whole host of dishes from the Mediterranean basin, to accompany the famous pan bagnat by Yoni Saada.
The menu features dishes from Israel (a marvelous shakshouka of tomatoes, red and yellow peppers braised with spices, chickpeas, bulgur and egg), Italy (mesclun niçois, spring onions, cucumber, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, pink radish, olives and truffled buratta toast), Turkey (ultra-fresh, fragrant salad with tomatoes, onions, herbs, garlic, lemon juice and cumin), Lebanon (hummus and labnee with pistachios and dried apricots), as well as Greece, Morocco and Provence!
For our part, we let ourselves be tempted by the shakshouka, the herbed hummus, the Turkish salad, the panisse fries (surprisingly light), the artichokes (a killer) and the egg brick (crispy, gourmet and perfectly runny) and we can tell you that we traveled!
If we could recommend one last little trip, it would be to the Bagnard toilets, to admire an astonishing ceiling... But that's all we have to say!
To sum up, Bagnard offers its customers a veritable gustatory voyage, to be experienced either seated at a table or leaning against the massive wooden counter behind which chef Yoni Saada and his team are hard at work.
Bagnard is the kind of cuisine that almost makes you sunburn!
