Japanese-inspired poke bowls can be found at Canal Poké. Generous, tasty and healthy, these bowls are served with a little miso soup before finishing with a gourmet pastry.

If you thought we'd already said everything about pokebowls and tasted them, think again. We've unearthed a little family address in the 10th arrondissement, which has just celebrated its first year of existence.

This poke paradise is Canal Poké, rue Bichat. On the menu, ultra-fresh and, above all, original poke, a far cry from shops that simply assemble elements. At Canal Poké, the fish is marinated (sea bream in a passion sauce, for example) and the restaurant offers original,Japanese-inspired toppings.

You can trust the team and opt for one of their 4 signature poke. You choose your fish(salmon, tuna, sea bream - and tofu option for vegetarians) and abracadabra, Canal Poké adds a max of toppings, the same for all the signature poke: edamame, cucumber, onions, wakame seaweed, red cabbage, ginger, avocado, mango, coriander, garlic-ginger sweet soy sauce, fried onions, wasabi peas, masago (capelin caviar).

For the sauce, you can choose between spicy mayo sauce, a slightly spicy mayonnaise, and goma sauce, a Japanese sesame sauce, our favorite. If you're not sure, you can ask to taste them before they cover your poke!

And if you feel like adding or removing elements from the signature poke, Canal Poké lets you create your own poke from scratch.

Let's get straight to the point: at Canal Poké, the bowls are generous and preceded by a delicious miso soup, the fish is super-fresh, melting and cut into big chunks, the homemade juices are full of good stuff (kiwi/cucumber/apple/ginger; orange/beetroot/apple/ginger; orange/grapefruit/lemon) and the prices are super-affordable. You can get away with a complete lunchtime menu for just €14, or €16 if you fancy a dessert!

And we'd advise you not to skip out on the desserts! The slice of carrot cake is imposing and, above all, perfectly moist, while the chocolate chip cookie is buttered just the way we like it and created from a Pierre Hermé recipe. All good stuff!

In short, there's no end in sight to the trend for poke bowls, and if you're looking for real, good pokes to enjoy in Paris, a trip to Canal Poké might just delight your taste buds!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
