An unusual journey into street food... This is whatAtelier Mikki, a restaurant in Paris's 3rd arrondissement, has to offer, inviting diners to discover an audacious cuisine somewhere between Japan and Brittany... And with good reason: the establishment features a most curious concept, somewhere between a crêpe and a maki. What does it involve? Here, the traditional crêpe is revisited and presented in an original way, whether savory or sweet. Buckwheat or wheat pancakes are rolled, cut and presented in the form of Japanese maki.
Mikki' s high-quality cuisine is sure to delight gourmets and gourmands alike, since all our creations are made with the finest ingredients, respecting the local economy and fair trade, organically grown and sourced from small producers carefully selected by the restaurant. Everything is entirely homemade, with recipes that respect everyone's culinary practices and constraints: gluten free, lactose intolerant, veggie, vegan... There's something for everyone!
On the savory side, the recipes are based on traditional Breton galettes, with buckwheat flour and Guérande fleur de sel, among other ingredients, all enhanced by "iconic products" from Japanese gastronomy: Shitake mushrooms, Daikon radish, Ikura salmon roe... fine products in the purest Japanese tradition. On the sweet side, we remain more French, with a revisitation of traditional French desserts: Paris-Brest, tarte citron meringuée and other dishes with a subtle Japanese touch, including Yuzu or Matcha tea, among others.
A concept that the editors were able to try out and loved: the "maki" are beautiful, well-presented, balanced and fine in the mouth, for a unique and well-thought-out blend of flavors. On the savory side, we particularly liked the Mikki with fresh goat's cheese, spinach shoots, crushed walnuts, figs and buckwheat honey for its freshness, stand-out flavors and interesting lamb's lettuce. On the sweet side, our heart goes out to the Mikki apple caramel beurre salé, a real knockout! Special mention goes to the Paris Brest, which is particularly fine on the palate, as well as the buckwheat "chips" and the gazpacho with a hint of wasabi.

In short, a gourmet hot spot to be discovered as a matter of urgency! Shall we go, friends?
