Feel like eating traditional food? Good bistro food in Paris is available, but you have to know the real addresses beyond the tourist traps. The Café de la Butte is one of these nuggets where you can enjoy classics such as frog legs on checkered tablecloths.
A decor in its juice, with an old-fashioned zinc, a sky painted like a theater set, Le Café de la Butte is a place where you feel good. In the first room there are the regulars, a table of six who laugh with the hostess.
We move to the second room. In entrance we share the traditional frog legs, a good standard to see in which court we play. And apparently, here, we are in the big league. Well browned, buttered, winged, the legs are fleshy and tasty.
Then for the main course, we continue with the classic beef, exquisite, served with potatoes sautéed with garlic and parsley. As for the duck confit, it melts in the mouth, it is a delight.
To accompany all this the wine list is rich. We let ourselves be tempted by a glass of côte du rhône, as robust as it should be. And the good thing is that at the Café de la Butte, they serve late, we could taste all this at 10:30 pm on a weekday evening, happiness we tell you!
