Avocado lovers have found their new spot for savoring good food! After a first restaurant in the heart of the Sentier district, Avocateria has set up shop in the heart of Bastille, just a stone's throw from rue de la Roquette. This second restaurant offers a slightly different menu to its parent company, since in addition to Avocado Toasts, the house also offers its equally tasty pancakes, for sweet and savoury lovers alike.
The menu is accompanied by an eclectic selection of organic wines, beers and black lattes. In the dining room, you'll find three chic and cosy worlds to make you feel at home, in cocooning mode. The"Kiss my Hass" menu features fluffy pancakes with signature guacamole (or charcoal black Guac), pomegranate, red shiso and salad. We also enjoy the"Beirut Lover", fluffy pancakes (or organic sourdough bread), accompanied by zaatar marinated in organic olive oil, Hass avocado, cherry tomatoes, green olives, pumpkin seeds, coriander and salad. Or opt for the house's new healthy vegetarian burger, with avocado, beet and a few hazelnuts for cheddar.
You can also opt for salads, such as the"Summer Body", made with mesclun, quinoa, signature guacamole (or charcoal black Guac), feta, pomegranates, chopped fresh mint and sesame cream sauce, or the"Sunset Bowl", made with mesclun, quinoa, curry hummus, beet hummus, Hass avocado, cherry tomatoes, green olives, roasted peanuts, fresh coriander and honey-coriander vinaigrette. Note thatAvo Burgers, one ofAvocateria Sentier's two burgers, is also available at the Bastille restaurant.
For dessert, you'll enjoy an avocado and peanut brownie, a lemon moelleux and a Granola Bowl, also available from the other store. The house also offers sweet pancakes such as the"Sweet Green" (2 fluffy pancakes, smooth avocado-lime cream, homemade organic granola, fresh fruit and honey), the"Crazy Pancakes" (2 fluffy pancakes, crunchy caramelized 65% cashew butter (a house specialty), avocado-lime coulis and roasted hazelnuts) or the"Healthy Nut' Est Là!"(2 fluffy pancakes, healthy homemade Valrhona chocolate spread with 61% hazelnuts, banana, avocado and roasted hazelnuts).
And plenty of other surprises too! A menu we were able to try out, click & collect first. For the main course, we were tempted by theAvo Burger, a delicious burger with avocado (homemade guacamole) and mesclun. An interesting mix of flavors, delicate on the palate, ideal for vegetarians. Next, we tried the Bombay Express, fluffy pancakes with avocado and curry cream, unrivalled in freshness. For dessert, our special mention: the Crazy Pancake, a fluffy pancake with homemade cashew butter and lemon avocado cream, which we fell for. A surprising and addictive explosion of flavours not to be missed! We also opt for the Healthy Nut' Est La, a fluffy pancake with homemade Valrhona chocolate spread and avocado slices, of course. A treat not to be missed either.
On our return when the terraces reopened, we also let ourselves be tempted by one of the house burgers: avocado and beet. An original and tasty blend of colors and flavors, enhanced by a thunderous brioche burger bun, adding an extra touch of deliciousness. On the toast side, the Bombay Express version, already tried and tested with the fluffy pancakes, also appealed to us, offering something lighter, with more texture. And for dessert, the lemon and avocado cream cake, which resembles gingerbread to a fault, and the Crazy Pancake, one of the editors' favorite desserts, are as delicious as ever.
In short, you know where to go for a meal that smells of sunshine!
