Chouchou is the charming 4-star hotel near the Opéra that welcomes Parisians and travelers to its pretty, Parisian-looking rooms, but also, and above all, treats them at the counter of its food court on the first floor, accessible via the hotel but also via a dedicated entrance on the street.
In fact, instead of a traditional hotel restaurant, Le Chouchou has opted for originality with its "Marché", featuring two stalls in a relaxed, 100% gourmet food court spirit, featuring French products from small producers. The best.
On the one hand, a land side run by La Grande Bouffe, with a host of artisanal charcuterie from the Tarn or Pontivy, farmhouse and artisanal cheeses from Maison Beillevaire, delicious oven-roasted Camembert (16€), Breton galettes (10€) and even traditional galettes saucisse with onion compote and mustard cream, or hot dog style with homemade ketchup.
There's also a seaside restaurant by La Mer à Boire to satisfy every appetite. On the menu, the best of the sea, according to season and tide: oysters from Cancale and Quiberon Bay, raw or with topping, IGP whelks from Granville (10€) dipped in mayo, pink shrimps, smoked fish, octopus and shrimp kebabs cooked a la plancha. For our part, we fell for the salmon toasted roll (17€), buttered, well-filled and crisp to perfection!
Ordering couldn't be simpler: we order whatever makes our mouth water at the counter, and leave with a beeper to let us know when our order is ready to be devoured. In the meantime, we make our way under the large glass roof of the Hotel Chouchou to find a seat at one of the large tables, perfect for welcoming groups of friends, or at a table for two, for greater intimacy.
Once comfortably seated, enjoy the live music that resonates throughout the Market. Several times a week, theHotel Chouchou organizes concerts to discover the future stars of French song. We ' ve been there!
As for drinks, the Marché de l'hôtel Chouchou boasts an attractive menu of ingenious cocktails, including the delicate Initiale Bébé (vodka, lime, essence of violet, raspberry liqueur, crémant; 14€), the powerful La Nuit Je Mens (whisky, vanilla, spices; 14€), the elegant Vague à l'Âme (cognac, lemon mint; 14€) or the moscow mule revisited Chouchou-style.
And for those craving iodine, the famous Oyster Party with its€1 oyster is back every Tuesday evening at Marché du Chouchou. Calling all fans!
