The Champs-Élysées are reserved for pedestrians one Sunday a month, usually the first. This is an opportunity for Parisians of all ages to stroll freely along the world's most beautiful avenue, without cars. As a reminder, with "Paris Respire", Paris City Hall hopes to reduce fine particle emissions. And since October 2018, the car-free perimeter has been extended to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris, allowing pedestrians to fully enjoy the center of the capital.
The anti-pollution plan has therefore continued to gain momentum, resulting in traffic restrictions for older cars and trucks since July 2017.
