Paris Forum des Halles is saying no to food waste and calls on the Too Good To Go application to allow restaurants to sale their unsold articles of the day. A good initiative!

Too Good To Go is this super application designed in 2015 allowing to save many unsold articles from the garbage can. The app by the eponymous start-up puts restaurants in touch with consumers so that unsold items can be sold for a discounted price.

To do so, it’s a piece of cake: thanks to geolocation, you can find the involved storekeepers in your area and order your ‘surprise basket’ and get it directly at the store at the indicated collecting time.

It works for restaurants, bakeries, delicatessens, supermarkets, in other words, a cool thing for the planet and the consumers too since they can enjoy meals for an attractive cost, and for restaurant owners since unsold articles are usually thrown away.

Well, Paris Forum des Halles has announced its will to fight against food waste and become a sustainable player in Paris by offering its stores to put unsold articles available to the app users at the end of the day.

About a dozen stores are already involved to fight against food waste including: Causses, La Brioche Dorée, Momen’Tea, Monoprix, Pomme de Pain, Sept Cinq, Starbucks Coffee… Since the beginning of this adventure at Les Halles, over 1300 meals have been already saved.

In other words, a very good initiative good for everyone!
