Paris July 14th military parade moved to Avenue Foch: the 2024 program

Every year, to celebrate France's national holiday, a military parade usually takes place on theChamps-Elysées in Paris. This year, however, the event has been moved to Avenue Foch. The rendezvous is this Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, to witness this tradition of the French National Holiday.

So, what's on the program for the July 14, 2024military parade in Paris ? This year, it pays tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Landings, the Liberation of France and Victory, an echo of French history, international relations and the end of the Second World War. With the Paris Olympics 2024 just around the corner, the second theme of this exceptional military parade is "Olympism and armies", with the Olympic flame passing through.

The detailed program for the July 14, 2024 Military Parade on Avenue Foch in Paris

• 9:45am: End of the installation of the troops on foot at the Étoile site. Inspection of troops by the general officer commanding the foot parade.
  
  
• 10am: End of Republican Guard honor detachments.
  
  
• 10.17am: Arrival of the President of the Republic, avenue de Friedland. Welcomed by General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces (CEMA), accompanied by Lieutenant General Christophe Abad, Military Governor of Paris (GMP). Grand escort of Republican Guard cavalry on Place Charles de Gaulle, then review of troops on foot at the top of Avenue Foch.
  
  
• 10:27am: Honors paid to the President of the Republic, at the bottom of avenue Foch, by the Republican Guard's 1st and 2nd Infantry Regiments. Welcome by the Prime Minister; the Minister of the Armed Forces; the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Armed Forces, responsible for Veterans and Remembrance; and the President's Chief of Staff, Air Force General Fabien Mandon.
  
  
• 10:33am: Initial entertainment by the Air and Space Music Jazz Band, on the theme of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of France.
  
  
• 10:49 am: Parade of helicopters and light aircraft, led by Air Division General Stéphane Groën, second-in-command of the Air Defense and Air Operations Command (CDAOA).
  
  
• 10.53am: Parade of the invited foreign nation and the troops honored (Compagnons de la Libération units), followed by the parade of foot troops, commanded by Brigadier General Éric Chasboeuf, Deputy Commitment General (GAE) of the Paris defense and security zone and deputy to the military governor of Paris.
  
  
• 11:34: Parade of aircraft, commanded by Air Division General Stéphane Groën, second-in-command of the CDAOA.
  
  
• 11.40 am: Parade of mounted troops.
  
  
• 11:44 am: Final animation on the theme of armies and Olympism.
  
  
• 12 pm: Departure of the President of the Republic.
