This year, for Easter 2024, Maxence Barbot, the talented Pastry Chef at the Shangri-La Hotel Paris , is once again delighting us with his unusual Easter egg in the shape of a stoup. Inspired by his Breton roots and the sea (echoing the cuisine of Bauhinia), Maxence Barbot has imagined a one-of-a-kind creation evoking the captivating beauty of the famous and imposing shell, standing proudly on its rock like a jewel from the deep sea.
The uniqueness of this Easter egg also lies in its flavours: a double shell of 75% dark chocolate of exceptional origin, from the small island of Sumba, in the archipelago of the Lesser Sunda Islands. This chocolate, selected for its deep, fruity aromatic notes, envelops a gourmet heart of praline, almonds, hazelnuts and a melting heart of caramel with fleur de sel. The final touch, a delicate layer of chocolate sprinkled with fleur de sel wakamé, completes this culinary work of art, offering a little marine note, which, we reassure you, doesn't overpower it. It's the hint of saltiness that completes this powerful chocolate.
But the Œuf de Pâques Bénitier doesn't just delight the taste buds. It also contains a most extraordinary surprise: hidden inside one of these chocolate creations is a candy sugar pearl, which will be the key to a dream trip for two. The lucky holder of this pearl will be treated to 7 nights at the Shangri-La Le Touessrok on Ile des Bénitiers, surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean in a setting that's both chic and tropical. And as the egg is produced in a limited edition of 200, we're in with a shout.
Available from March 25 to April 1, 2024, this 1kg egg is priced at €108. For those in search of a gourmet and original Easter experience, combining the finesse of haute pâtisserie with the wonder of a tropical adventure, this creation by Maxence Barbot at the Shangri-La Paris is sure to please. Don't miss the chance to discover this marine treasure, a symbol of an Easter 2024 that's all about discovery and escape.
If you like flans, Maxence Barbot is relaunching his Easter flan in a new chocolate version. This dessert, with its dark, elegant color, takes its uniqueness from 65% Peruvian chocolate, offering a velvety texture and balanced cocoa aromas. The Chef's signature is revealed in the combination of a delicate puff pastry and a chocolate crunch that encloses a creamy pastry cream.
Designed to be enjoyed with family or friends, this flan, available in a four-person format, promises a regressive, gourmet moment. Available to take away, it's sure to be a hit on your festive table.
Available from March 25 to April 1, 2024, this flan is also a star at the Tea Time specially organized for Easter in an individual version. For a shared experience, this creation is priced at €42.
Pre-orders are open now, so don't delay in reserving your limited-edition chocolate creations to celebrate the Easter festivities in the best possible way.
