January kicks off the New Year with the first celebration of the calendar:Epiphany. For the occasion, sweet tooths are treated to a gourmet reunion with the traditional cake that accompanies this feast: the Galette des Rois. It's the perfect opportunity to get together with friends and family for a deliciously regressive snack, and share a slice of this delicacy, while everyone hopes to find the precious bean in their own. Whoever finds the secret figurine hidden inside the galette will be crowned king or queen!
Young and old alike are happy to join in the fun, but it's not all fun and games: the finest Parisian bakeries are also on board, offering their own galettes des rois. Some will unveil unusual creations, while others will prefer classics made according to the rules of the art. If you prefer the traditional galette des rois, then this is your chance to discover the galette des rois at Café de la Paix, a famous historic Paris institution located just a stone's throw from theOpéra Garnier.
After unveiling an ultra-regressive Yule log, Café de Paix now presents a sweet and delicious galette des rois. Beneath a crisp, golden puff pastry, an almond cream and pastry cream are combined to create a creamy cake with the sweet aroma of childhood. Stamped Café de la Paix, this galette des rois hides a bean with the effigy of an adorable teddy bear chef.
Café de la Paix's Galette des Rois is available at €45 for an 8-person cake from January 2 to 26, 2025. It must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.
