The Journées du Patrimoine are back. This year, on the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024, the 41st edition of the Journées du Patrimoine promises to be an absolute blast! This is your chance to conquer the town of Saint-Mammès, in Seine-et-Marne, where a vast program of visits and events awaits you.

Every year, on the third weekend in September, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) offer a fabulous program of events and visits, many of them free of charge. For this 41st edition, we invite you to join us on September 21 and 22, 2024. During this exceptional weekend, you'll be able to conquer the most beautiful treasures of our heritage!

Yes, for this not-to-be-missed cultural event, many venues lend themselves to the game and unveil their own unique programming. Museums, monuments, castles, churches and even addresses usually closed to the general public- every year there's a wide choice on offer, so there's something for everyone. Whether you're a couple, a family, a group of friends or a solo traveler, there's something for everyone on this exceptional weekend!

It's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the heritage treasures of Seine-et-Marne. And one of the perfect places for a cultural getaway is the charming town of Saint-Mammès, just a short navigo ride away. Here, on the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ), a host of visits and events await you!

    Guided tour of the church of Saint-Mammès
    The village church, dedicated to Mammès, a saintly healer from Cappadocia, was probably built around the year 1000, and is in the pre-Romanesque style.
    It houses a 13th-century statue of the saint, a beautiful 14th-century statue of the Virgin and Child, and several 13th-century tombstones.

    Great quiz in the form of an "escape game"
    You'll wander from table to table on a journey of enigmas relating to the heritage of routes, networks and connections in the village of Saint-Mammès.
    Find the answers among the many clues hidden on the tables. Can you solve the riddles without your cell phone?
    A great family activity!
    At the end of the competition, a draw will be held among the winners, with some great prizes up for grabs!

    Exhibition on inland waterway transport between the Seine and Yonne (archaeology, history, know-how and heritage), presentation of model boats built by bargemen, discovery of the nautical carpentry trade (restoration of a listed boat), "boatmen's games".

Heritage Days 2024 at the collective orchard of the fruits of water at Saint-Mammès

  • Interconnecting life, people and biodiversity
    Sunday, September 22, 2:00 p.m.

    Workshops organized by the Collecif 1000 Sabords association
    Orchard "Aux fruits de l'eau" in Saint Mammès (located near the stadium).
    Come and discover the feeder hedge, rich in a variety of useful berries. It contributes to our village's green fabric, providing shelter and food for birds and the curious... It's a real biodiversity reserve, with 200 plants.
    Activities:

    Great hedge-nurturing game to discover the species that make up the hedge and their possible uses.
    Learn how to take cuttings from hedge plants.


    Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
