Every year in September, a wide range of free visits, events and exceptional openings await us at a variety of sites, allowing us to discover their respective backstage secrets and stories over the course of a weekend. All in all, it's a not-to-be-missed highlight in the Parisian calendar! The next event is scheduled for September 20-22, 2024, for a fascinating 41st edition.

The châteaux of the Île-de-France region are of course part of this year's Heritage Days, so we're taking the opportunity to explore these impressive residences, which are also to be found in the Paris region. The département of Yvelines has no shortage of beautiful estates to discover, the best known of which is the Château de Versailles. The town of Plaisir also boasts a charming estate. The Château de Plaisir and its park are among the heritage treasures well worth a visit. Built in the 17th century, it is now a cultural hub, housing a media library, a conservatory and the Théâtre Robert Manuel, as well as exhibition and reception halls.

The 2024 Heritage Days program at Château de Plaisir (78)

  • Château de Plaisir
    Saturday, September 21, 2:00 p.m.

Built in the 17th century and remodeled in the 18th, Château de Plaisir is a listed historic monument, along with its grounds and outbuildings (facades and roofs). Although the interior of the château has been completely remodeled, it has retained its 16th-century architectural appearance, set in the middle of a classical garden whose layout can still be seen today.
The first mention of a "hostel located in Plaisir" dates back to the Middle Ages, during the Hundred Years' War. However, the present château was built under Louis XIII. At the time, it belonged to a large family of King's advisors (Le Tellier), before becoming an important agricultural estate. Today, it houses the Château media library and the town's cultural services.
Offered by the town of Plaisir and the Musée de la ville de SQY.
