Because today, in 2018, many animals are still exploited for their fur (and their skin). Because 150 million animals are killed every year in the world for their dur. Animal rights associations and activists have decided to meet and walk to denounce the exploitation of animals for their fur.
On Saturday October 6, 2018, a walk against fur is held in Paris. The meeting point at 12 p.m. is the Place de la République.
The aim of this event? “Being together to be heard and improve the consumers’ awareness and make brands react about this market that is completely despicable in the 21st century”.
These past few years, following the movement of several associations protecting animals, several big names in fashion have decided to ban fur such as Stella McCartney and Calvin Klein and more recently Giorgio Armani, Michael Kors, Gucci, Versace and even The Kooples. In early September, the brand Burberry has announced it will stop using fur in its collections. Also note that the London Fashion Week has decided for its edition 2018 (from September 14 to 18) to present fur-less models.
Yet, many brands still use animal fur… In light of this sad assessment, associations keep fighting. New rallying on October 6, 2018 in Paris!
In the same time, an associative village will be set up at the Place de la République.
