Calling all wanderers and photographers, the Village Royal unveils its latest installation. After delighting us with lit bears this winter, the Village Royal makes us look on the bright side of life. As a matter of fact, it’s an umbrella sky that is now waiting for us and until May 3, 2020.
The Umbrella Sky Project is back! Behind this project, we have Patricia Cunha who already made us look on the bright side of life with a colorful umbrellas version last year and balloons at Bercy Village. Since 2011, this Portuguese artist has been enhancing some neighborhoods from all over the world by setting up colorful umbrellas: blue, yellow, orange… and now pink a symbol of happiness and optimism to the artist.
After Porto, Arles, Carcassonne, Toulouse and even Béziers in France, but also Tokyo, Seoul, Saint-Petersburg and Pensacola, the artist keeps on brightening Paris streets.
The project relies on a quote from Audrey Hepburn: “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles”.
Instagrammers and skilled or amateur photographers, head to the Village Royal on 25 rue Royale in Paris to admire hundreds of pink umbrellas set until May 3, 2020.
