A rule we will soon have to follow to the letter… So, as deconfinement has just started, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo said on Twitter she wants facemasks to be mandatory in the streets of the French capital, the goal being to reopen parks. “Given Parisians’ needs, because Paris is a very dense city, I renew my request to open parks and gardens with mandatory facemasks, which should also be the case in the streets of our city” one can read on her Twitter account.

Tweet reads: “Given Parisians’ needs, because Paris is a very dense city, I renew my request to open parks and gardens with mandatory facemasks, which should also be the case in the streets of our city”
Facemasks are already compulsory in public transportation, but not in public spaces even though highly encouraged. But as Ile-de-France is still in a read area, no park or garden is allowed to reopen for now. A ban that has been also extended to the Canal Saint Martin banks, stormed by Parisians this Monday May 11th evening because too many people gathered, so much that the forces of order have had to step in and evacuate people.
Banks on which alcohol has also been banned as the Prefect of Paris Police Didier Lallement announced in a press release. A request that may be examined by the government, anyway, it will get an answer by June 2nd as a new deconfinement plan phase is said to start.
