It seems Christophe Castaner’s message on the first day of containment exit has not been heard. Last night, the Secretary of the Interior has required a decree banning alcohol along the Canal Saint-Martin and the Seine riverbanks following several groups around these watering places. Today, it is on the Sacred Heart parvis that Parisians have met, despite coronavirus, and have been asked to move by the forces of order.
As parks and gardens are still closed, we must believe that Parisians will find any way to get a breath of fresh air. If gatherings over 10 people in public space is banned, the Police prefect can go further and proceed to new decrees.
Earlier today, Anne Hidalgo renewed her request to reopen parks in order to give places of walk to Parisians, which has been banned by the Health Minister himself.
According to Olivier Véran, the reason is simple: “It could be extremely tempting because of the sun but today, we have people gathering too much and not respecting the 10-people group rule and they do not respect the barrier gesture conditions”.
