As Spain has declared, earlier this week, 10-day quarantine will be imposed to travelers coming to the country in order to prevent the coronavirus epidemic from starting again, France has just made a similar measure, the Elysée says.
So, France intends to apply quarantine measures to Spanish travelers for the sake of reciprocity “of measures made in Spain.
“France will impose this two-week quarantine as soon as Spain will do so, based on reciprocity” the government explains, without giving any specific date as for implementing these measures. It will compromise Spanish people’s holidays in France and the other way around.
But these restrictive measures are not what France “wishes”, the government says as it is currently negotiating with Spain on the matter.
Of course, if such measures were to be applied, it would not apply to border workers, the Elysée says.
For the record, the European Commission is working on a tourism recovery scheme, and the coordinated reopening of the European borders, as the government has they will decide on June 15th if the French borders are to reopen or not.
