The City of Wuhan is said to be the epicenter of the coronavirus crisis sparked by eating a wild animal sold at the market of this Chinese city in December 2019. Since then, the epidemic has become a world pandemic and the spread of Covid-19 has led to never-seen-before measures. Half the humanity been put on lockdown.
This Wednesday May 20, 2020 the city of Wuhan has announced to ban eating wild animals. It is no longer allowed to eat or hunt these species, including bred and it is also banned to raise wild animals even though these are protected land species. According to The Guardian, this measure will be implemented for 5 years and is also applied to threatened water species.
As coronavirus keeps on spreading across the world, the question about eating these wild species have been brought up and China took measures about it. For instance, it committed to give money to farmers managing livestock farming and who have temporarily ban selling these wild animals until the end of the coronavirus crisis.
