Towards a resurgence of the epidemic in China? After the coronavirus resurgence in Beijing since mid-June and 158 cases reported in a week, the Chinese authorities announced this Thursday June 18, 2020 that the resurgence of the contamination was “under control”, swiping away any risk of a new Covid-19 wave in the country.
In Beijing, thousands of Chinese people were being tested this Thursday June 18. As for the Health Ministry, it reported 21 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours within the Chinese capital. On June 14, 57 cases were reported, leading to questions as for a second epidemic wave, as scanned by the whole world… This explains why authorities have launched a major testing campaign for inhabitants and a wide restaurant disinfecting campaign.
Other dramatic measures have been made as well. So, about thirty residential zones have been self-isolated. Schools have been shut down once again and until further notice. Note the municipality invited inhabitants to avoid non-essential trips and people living in “mild or high-risk areas” are not allowed to leave the city. Measures that could prevent the virus from spreading again and to curb the risk of the oh-so feared second wave.
