To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its TGV, the SNCF has come up with a new design and presented the"TGV M", the train of the future. Emmanuel Macron attended the presentation of this new high-speed train on Friday, which will be launched in 2024. In 40 years, eight generations of TGVs have succeeded each other to carry nearly 3 billion passengers from one end of France to the other.
The French company, which has just announced new job cuts, is promising an even more comfortable, more flexible, more ecological and more economical TGV thanks to better aerodynamics. New lighting and 5G on board will enhance the journey of passengers, 200 more than now, or 740 passengers. However, there are no plans to improve the speed of the TGV, which will remain at 320km/h. Still 100% French, this more modern and more accessible train for people with reduced mobility has changed a lot since the orange-nosed TGV of the beginning!

This weekend, thanks to the Journées du Patrimoine, you will have the opportunity to dive into the life of the TGV, from the last years to today, at the Gare de Lyon.
Exceptional for the #40yearsTGV the visit of the regulation post on Saturday and Sunday.
