We're gearing up for a heatwave in the Île-de-France region this weekend, with temperatures of up to 33°C expected in Paris from Friday onwards. This is the start of what Météo France describes as the first heatwave of the summer.
According to the forecasts, France will experience days of intense heat after a rather temperate and unsettled week. From Friday onwards, the mercury begins to rise, and the Paris region is no exception. Although this hot spell will be short-lived, the mercury won't fall below 29°C in the region.
Here's what we can expect this weekend:
The peak of this heat wave will be reached on Saturday, with no less than 33°C in the afternoon. A maximum of 33°C is expected in Créteil (Val-de-Marne). On Sunday, the arrival of a thundery disturbance is expected to bring temperatures down, with Paris still recording 29°C.
The good news, however, is that in Paris, this weekend marks the start of the school vacations and of Paris Plages, with the launch of numerous free swimming pools this Saturday. So, to make the most of this heat wave without suffering too much, we suggest you discover the best spots:
