In the run-up to the July-Augustcrossroads, the E.Leclerc group has announced that it will continue to offer fuel at cost price at its service stations from Friday August 2 until the end of the weekend on Sunday August 4. A godsend for drivers, as France's roads look set to be particularly congested this Saturday.
The E.Leclerc group, known for its initiatives in favor of purchasing power, is once again offering its fuel "at cost price". Michel-Édouard Leclerc, Chairman of the Strategic Committee of E.Leclerc centers, stated in a press release issued on Thursday: " Supporting the purchasing power of the French has always been our priority " . This operation aims to offer consumers an opportunity to buy fuel at a price with no margin for the retailer.
The scheme will take place at the 725 stations in the E.Leclerc network, covering a large part of the Île-de-France region, with the exception of a few stations. For the people of the Paris region, it's an ideal opportunity to fill up at a lower cost before hitting the road.
Stations not taking part in the operation :
This initiative is particularly welcome as the weekend promises to be a busy one on the roads, with heavy traffic expected between Julyers returning home and Augusters leaving on vacation. Fuel at cost, which will also be extended to the weekend of August 16-18, is a breath of fresh air for motorists' wallets.
U stores (Hyper U, Super U...) are also launching a "fuel at cost price" operation on Friday August 2 and Saturday August 3 across their entire network, covering some 700 stations. According to the company's communications department, this will be the only offer of the entire summer season.
