This autumn, the gourmet competitions for our favorite pastries and viennoiseries are back. After the Best Chocolate Bread in France, the Best Organic Bread in the Paris Region and the Best Apple Tart in the Paris Region, now it's time for the Best Pastry in the Val-d'Oise!
Organized by the Groupement patronal des artisans boulangers-pâtissiers du Val-d'Oise and the CMA IDF Val d'Oise, the competition was held this autumn at the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat in Cergy, and brought together numerous candidates, each more motivated than the last to try and walk away with the coveted trophy. To win the trophy, these pastry chefs had to create and propose two emblematic desserts: the unmissable Paris-Brest and the famous apple tart.
To select the most successful creations and the best of Val-d'Oise pastry-making, the competition called on a panel of expert judges. They had the difficult task of tasting each pastry created and presented by apprentice pastry chefs, professional employees and company directors.
After deliberation, the Puiseux-Pontoise-based bakery-patisserie L'artisan Chocolaté was named the overall winner, taking first prize in the 2024 competition for the best patisserie in the Val-d'Oise (employer category).
Second place went to Aux Trois Petits Choux, a bakery and patisserie in L'Isle-Adam.
Last but not least, Maison Gauthier in Beauchamp took 3rd prize in the Val-d'Oise's Best Pastry 2024 competition.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants!
