Gourmet competitions come and go in Paris and the Ile-de-France region. After the prizes for the best organic bread in the Paris region and the best pain au chocolat, it's time for the 2024 trophy for the best artisan baker in the Hauts-de-Seine region!
Once again this year, there were many entries. As indicated by the Syndicat des Boulangers du Grand Paris, the awards ceremony was held on November 6. This autumn, artisan bakers from the Hauts-de-Seine region, competing in the " employer " category, had to outdo themselves by presenting a batch of two traditional French baguettes, a batch of two pains de campagne and a batch of three croissants. For their part, the artisans competing in the " employee " category had to provide two traditional French baguettes. The same applied to apprentices.
So who takes first place? Who wins the 2024 trophy for best artisan baker in Hauts-de-Seine? Mohamed El Ouafi of the Safaya bakery-patisserie, in Bois-Colombes, was the overall winner in the " employer " category.
He was followed by Basile Fourmont, of Des Racines et du Pain, in Clamart. Finally, Catherine Oule , based in Neuilly-sur-Seine, took third place.
