Where to taste the best macarons in Ile-de-France? On Tuesday November 5, 2024, the Macaron Ile-de-France competition awards ceremony took place at the Salon de la Gastronomie in Mée-sur-Seine. Here we reveal the 2024 prize list, which includes an apprentice from Essonne and talent from Val-d'Oise.

With its rounded shape and soft, crunchy shell, the macaron has seduced the hearts and taste buds of gourmets the world over. A true monument of French pastry-making, the macaroon today comes in a multitude of versions: chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, coffee or even black sesame... everyone has their own preference. But you still need to know the right places to try this French specialty.

This autumn, the département of Seine-et-Marne, in association with the Syndicat des Boulangers du Grand Paris, organized the latest edition of the Best Macaron d'Île-de-France competition. Several pastry chefs from the region presented their creations at the Résidence Château du Mée.

So who are this year's lucky winners, and where can you go to enjoy the best macaroons in the Île-de-France region?

In the Apprentice category, Charlotte Fillon of Maison Crosnier, Arpajon, Essonne, took first place, followed by Mélina Lentilus of Boulangerie du Moulin, Nesles-la-Vallée, Val-d'Oise, and Morgane Margerit of Maison Jehenne, Presles-en-Brie, Seine-et-Marne.

In the "Innovative Macaron" category, first prize went to La Pelle et la Toque in Sannois, Val-d'Oise. Second place went to Boulangerie du Moulin in Nesles-la-Vallée, followed by La Pelle et la Toque in L'Isle-Adam. Fourth and fifth place went to Aux Douceurs de la Chapelle in Chapelle-la-Reine and Maison Duret in Torcy, both in Seine-et-Marne.

Finally, in the " Chocolate Macaroon " category, the podium was dominated by La Pelle et la Toque in L'Isle-Adam (Val-d'Oise), followed by Maison Crosnier in Arpajon (Essonne), then again La Pelle et la Toque, but this time in Sannois. Fourth place went to Boulangerie du Moulin in Nesles-la-Vallée, while La Paulinette Calmetienne in Chaumes-en-Brie (Seine-et-Marne) rounded out the gourmet list.

Congratulations to all the winners for their creations, which are a credit to French patisserie, and a big thank you to the Salon de la Gastronomie and the commune of Le Mée-sur-Seine for their warm welcome. See you next year for even more sweets and creativity!
