This Tuesday, December 19, 2023, traffic on the A1 in the Val-d'Oise region of France is expected to be extremely difficult. As reported by specialist website Sytadin, the A1 is currently closed to traffic in both directions near the town of Roissy-en-France. This follows a fatal traffic accident, " involving several HGVs, one of which is on fire (transporting hydrocarbons) ". It is not yet known how long the road will be closed, but traffic is likely to be severely disrupted for several hours on Tuesday.
The Prefect of Val-d'Oise has confirmed the presence of firefighters on site, and is urging motorists to avoid the area.

Currently, the A1 freeway to Paris is " saturated " , warns Sytadin, with " more than 15 km of hold-up on this axis ".
So how do you get to Roissy airport from Paris? Sytadin recommends that motorists take a local detour via the access to the Roissy platform, following"aéroport". Directions to join the A1 and A104 will then be indicated. Conversely, to reach Paris from the A1, take the RD317 from Saint-Witz or Survilliers.
While there are difficulties on the roads in the Paris region, there are also disruptions on public transport in Paris this Tuesday morning. On the RER A, traffic is currently partially interrupted and severely disrupted.
