Bonus alert for DIY enthusiasts! Did you know that there's an app that lists construction site surplus materials and makes them available free of charge to private individuals? In response to the rising cost of building materials, and the alarming amount of waste on construction sites, three young Parisians have created Cycle Zero, an application offering an economical and ecological alternative, by reusing materials.
Cycle Zero gives a second life to materials in good condition destined for the dumpster, by finding a buyer for them among private individuals. The start-up makes its money by charging contractors a commission, a win-win strategy that helps reduce costs for the latter, while helping to preserve the environment.
According to our confrères, the app's co-founder emphasizes the importance placed on the quality of materials, ensuring that their quantity, functionality and viability are carefully assessed before they are made available. From windows and radiators to insulation materials, Cycle Zero has already saved over 39 tonnes of garbage since its launch in September 2022!
A clever way to reduce waste while stimulating the creativity of budding DIY enthusiasts!
