It's been a real headache for motorists using the A13 motorway between Vaucresson and Paris since April 19, following the discovery of cracks in the ground between the Saint-Cloud viaduct and tunnel. The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture announced the complete reopening of the A13 freeway between Vaucresson and Paris on Monday June 24. Motorists have been able to travel in both directions since 4pm. Since last Thursday, traffic has already resumed in the province-Paris direction on two lanes.
The closure of the segment between Paris and Vaucresson had been decided following the discovery of a crack caused by ground movement, affecting the retaining wall of the A13 viaduct, just before the Saint-Cloud tunnel. The repair work, carried out by the French government and the Conseil départemental, stabilized the wall and renovated the roadway.
Prefect Laurent Hottiaux expresses his satisfaction with the smooth progress of the works, enabling the reopening schedule to be met. After several months of major disruption, motorists can once again enjoy safe, fluid traffic.
The backfilling work carried out by FAYAT was decisive in stabilizing the affected area. The Direction des Routes d'Île-de-France (DiRIF) also contributed to finalizing the renovations required for the reopening.
In a press release, the Prefect thanked the teams mobilized for their efficiency, and users for their patience in the face of this constraining situation. He also invited everyone to follow the real-time information via Sytadin, the traffic management service, to keep abreast of developments in the situation.
The work carried out since April has made this crucial section of theA13 safer and more modern, improving safety and traffic flow for users of the Île-de-France region.
