The final of Top Chef 2024 on M6 took place on Thursday June 19. An anniversary season that unveiled many new features and, once again, revealed a wealth of talent. Finalists Jorick Dorignac and Clotaire fought tooth and nail throughout the competition. Season favorite Jorick impressed with his rigor and technical mastery, working under the tutelage of chef Stéphanie Le Quellec. In this final round, the candidates had to form their own brigades with former participants. Jorick worked with Valentin, Shirley, Pierre and Pavel, while Clotaire teamed up with Marie, Quentin, Bryan and Arnaud. Each presented a menu reflecting his or her style: Jorick opted for classic products, while Clotaire focused on new flavors.
A surprising ending
The professional jury initially gave Clotaire a clear advantage for the complexity and originality of his dishes, awarding him 34 points against Jorick's 16. However, the vote of the Red Cross volunteers changed all that. Preferring Jorick's menu, 56.54% of voters gave him the win, against 43.46% for Clotaire. This reversal of fortune enabled Jorick to win the competition and the sum of 56,540 euros.
Who is Jorick Dorignac?
Jorick Dorignac, 30, is a talented chef who has made a name for himself in the culinary world thanks to his seriousness and impeccable technique. Before taking part in Top Chef, Jorick was sous-chef at the NE/SO restaurant in Paris, run by Guillaume Sanchez, himself a former candidate on the show.
Jorick worked at NE/SO for six and a half years, during which time he developed his skills and honed his style. He has remained close to Guillaume Sanchez's ecosystem, notably through the Solide agency. However, Jorick recently expressed his desire to take on new challenges while remaining connected to the environment that saw him grow up.
Jorick Dorignac's future?
On the strength of his Top Chef experience and the enriching encounters he made there, Jorick is looking to the future with ambition. While he has no plans to open his own restaurant just yet, he is ready to take on new professional challenges. His participation in Top Chef has brought him renewed confidence and solid relationships with other chefs and candidates, including Valentin, Clotaire and Stéphanie Le Quellec.
