This weekend of August 3 and 4, 2024, the Olympic road cycling events take place in Paris, but also in Hauts-de-Seine,Essonne and Yvelines, heavily impacting traffic.
The men's race starts at 11:00 a.m. from the Trocadero in Paris and covers 273 km (see map above).
Traffic restrictions :
This Olympic event will entail temporary traffic restrictions. Some slip roads will be closed between 08:00 and 20:00, notably on the A86 and A12 freeways and the RN12, RN13 and RN118 trunk roads.
The women's road race takes place on Sunday August 4, starting at 2pm from the Trocadero in Paris and finishing at 6:45pm, over a 158km course.
Traffic restrictions :
This Olympic event will involve temporary traffic restrictions, with the closure of certain access ramps between 11:00 and 20:00 (see map below), notably on the N118 and RN12 national roads.
To allow motorized vehicles and pedestrians to cross during the races, shear points will be set up. Full details are available on the Anticipate the Games website.
This weekend's competitions will also have a major impact on public transport. 13 bus routes will be completely interrupted, while a hundred others will be diverted or limited. Here are just a few examples:

Finally, some local authorities, such as the 18th arrondissement town hall, have decided to postpone household waste collections to minimize disruption.
