The Vélodrome National is located between Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Montigny-le-Bretonneux and features the BMX Stadium, two Olympic venues for the Paris 2024 Games. But the velodrome, which houses the headquarters of the French Cycling Federation, has been built and operational since 2014. This modern facility frequently hosts the various French teams and numerous international competitions.
The velodrome has met Olympic standards from the outset, and for good reason: it was designed for the 2012 Olympic Games bid! Despite the failure of that bid, the project and the venue have been maintained, making Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines a real stronghold for cycling in the Île-de-France region. Located on a 15-hectare site, it can accommodate 6,000 people, with a Siberian pine track 250m long and 8m wide.
Built at the same time as the Vélodrome National, the BMX track is fully covered and floodlit - a first in Europe - and is open to the public and all levels of riders.
To get to the Velodrome, take the Transilien lines N and U or the RER C and get off at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, from Montparnasse or La Défense.
