Throughout the year, RATP undertakes modernization work on the various lines of its network, whether metro, RER or tramway. In 2025, this work will continue, notably on metro line 6 and RER line B. RER line A will also be affected. This is according to the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens.
As a result, disruptions are expected for users of the RER A line, which links Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Cergy and Poissy to the west, and Boissy-Saint-Léger and Marne-la-Vallée to the east, passing through the center of Paris.
So, what can we expect over the next few weeks? In detail, RATP warns that traffic on the RER A will be partially interrupted on several occasions in January. The resumption of work is announced as early as January 6, 2025, with trains at a standstill from January 6 to 10, between Maisons-Laffitte and Poissy, in the evening from 10:15pm.
Other branches concerned by this work? Those to the west of the line, between Sartrouville and Cergy-Le Haut, then between Sartrouville and Poissy. On these two sections, traffic will also be interrupted in the evening, from 10:15pm, from January 13 to 17, then from January 20 to 24 and finally from January 27 to 31, 2025.
Finally, also in January, RATP announced that traffic between Maisons-Laffitte and Poissy would be interrupted from 10.30pm on January 25 to 26, 2025.
Note that other works are likely to disrupt RER A traffic in 2025. Stay tuned for the schedule of other upcoming closures and works.
