On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the whole of the Hauts-de-Cergy district (95) will be celebrating Lunar New Year with a day of festivities, to introduce young and old alike to this tradition from the other side of the world. So, welcome to Passeport pour l'Asie, the festival organized by the Party Pris association, with a great program in store.
For its 6th edition, Passeport pour l'Asie celebrates the Lunar New Year, this year under the sign of the Wooden Dragon. What's on the program? You can take part in calligraphy workshops, cooking classes (to learn how to prepare banh trung and banh tet), a K-Pop masterclass, silk painting, massages... And let's not forget the demonstration of traditional Vietnamese dress and the Asian circus show, with its traditional bamboo dance!
In the evening, don't miss the lion and dragon dance - a staple of all Lunar New Year parades - the envelope ceremony (Hongbao) or the grand parade ending with fire works! The event is free and open to all, and takes place at Visages du Monde, one of the city's social and cultural venues. This year's Lunar New Year promises to be a grand affair in Cergy, so don't miss it on Saturday, March 2, from 10am to 9pm!
