Horse-drawn omnibuses, buses, streetcars, trolleybuses... Head to the Musée des Transports Urbains this Saturday, May 17, 2025, for a visit with an unusual theme. For this year's Nuit des Musées, the museum in the town of Chelles is opening its doors free of charge for an exceptional nocturne.
Created in 1957 by theAssociation pour le Musée des Transports Urbains, Interurbains et Ruraux (AMTUIR), this museum boasts an extensive collection of over 130 preserved and maintained vehicles, dating from 1863 to the present day. These life-size vehicles, scale models, models, books, photographs and other historical items take us on a real journey back in time.

Among the vehicles on display are buses and motrice n°1 from the Versailles tramway, horse-drawn omnibuses and tramways, Paris metro cars, mechanical and steam tramways and passenger cars (urban and secondary), electric, rack and pinion and funicular tramways (urban, interurban and secondary), trolleybuses and buses and coaches.
