We're off to the Musée Jean-Jacques Henner for the Nuit des Musées, this Saturday, May 17, 2025. A wonderful free evening awaits us from 6pm to 10pm, in the permanent collections and temporary exhibition of the moment at this museum in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
A French painter of the 19th century, Jean-Jacques Henner left behind a large body of work. He is best known for his portraits and landscapes, painted during an extensive trip to Italy after winning the Prix de Rome. Particularly noteworthy are his female nudes and his disturbing realist style.
The Musée Jean-Jacques Henner was once a private mansion and studio particularly popular with Parisian artists. This historic cocoon houses over 2,200 works recounting the life of this artist.
