For Nuit des Musées 2025, this Saturday May 17, there's no hesitation: we're going to visit the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, where we'll discover some 7,000 preserved animals, for a panorama of species seen in the four corners of the world, some extinct or on the brink of extinction.
In a magnificent building dating from 1877, we are greeted by the skeletons of the southern right whale and the blue whale, before wandering through the world of mammals, around the giraffe, elephant, zebra and other hyenas that populate the aisles of the Museum. Some of these naturalized animals are over 300 years old. They were brought back by French expeditions (from 1762 to the 19th century) to analyze vertebrates from all over the world!
Plunged out of the city, we rediscover the grandeur of the animal kingdom in the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution. Come face-to-face with 7,000 animals, and watch them stare at you, sometimes sad, sometimes aggressive! Beware, they could well come to life at nightfall! From aquatic fauna to the great caravan of animals of the African savannah, from tropical forests to extinct animals, take advantage of Museum Night to (re)discover the permanent collections of this magical place. In an exceptional architectural setting, the thousands of specimens on display make this a unique place to marvel at and explore the origins of life, the diversity of species and the place of man in nature.
Le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
The Muséum is always a safe bet, enchanting young and old alike. Why not take a trip there this Nuit des Musées?
