If you're an art lover, then you're bound to be familiar with the Grand Palais Éphémère. Open since June 12, 2021 in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, this impressive 10,000 m² temporary building was imagined and built to compensate for the closure of the Grand Palais for works, but also, and above all, in view of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the Arena's wooden structure blends perfectly into the urban landscape.
From July 26 to September 8, 2024, the Grand Palais Ephémère will be transformed into theArena Champ-de-Mars, a prestigious Olympic venue located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, where the Eiffel Tower Stadium will also be located.
Throughout these Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, sport will be in the spotlight at the Arena Champ-de-Mars. On the program? Judo and Para judo, as well as wrestling and wheelchair rugby.
The building will be dismantled in autumn 2024. The structure " may be reused in a variety of configurations, in another location yet to be determined ", according to the Paris Olympics website.
